Riverside Book Club - Flyer
Adobe Illustrator
For this project, I was given copy and assigned to create a mock poster for the Riverside Book Club in Savannah, Georgia. My intial ideas leaned into the safe at first, a flowery, romantic style, suited well enough for a book club but they felt static and overdone. I enjoyed the way it looked but it was missing something and felt bland, boring.
With feedback, I made a second version and was more inspired by my second moodboard, filled with diy punk show posters with a little more edge. Savannah itself is a city full of grit and texture, and I wanted the flyer to show it. I used a font with a grain texture and a bold yellow color, reminiscent of highlighting and annotating a book.
